March of the Living
2023
The 35th anniversary March of the Living brought youth and Holocaust survivors from around the world together to walk from Auschwitz to Birkenau on Holocaust Remembrance Day. The immersive educational journey created a living bridge between past and present, continuing from historic sites in Poland to Israel to explore Jewish renewal, identity, and resilience.
The Goal
To create a more personal and immersive experience than previous iterations, using design and storytelling to honour the voices of Holocaust survivors and participants from around the world.
The Concept
The colours that were used were blue and red to differentiate the two groups (Toronto and Coast-to-Coast). For this year’s design, I traced the program’s iconic photograph and transformed it into a graphic element that reinforced the established identity. Moreover, this was inspired by Parks Projects’ design when creating different iterations for this project.
